Maintenance for REBONDED HAIR
Here are the DO’s and DONT’s I gathered for all you ladies and some gentleman who had their HAIR REBONDED.
DO’s in HAIR REBONDING
- See to it to have your HAIR MAINTENANCE TREATMENT if not once a week once a month
- Do CONDITION your hair everyday
- Buy HAIR COATS to further protect your hair
- Brush your hair twice a day to massage scalp and bring out the natural oils to make your hair silky and shiny
- Do tell your HAIRSTYLIST the HISTORY of your HAIR before doing HAIR REBONDING
DONT’S in HAIR REBONDING
- Do not SHAMPOO HAIR 2-3 days after HAIR REBONDING
- Do not use HAIR CLIP, HAIR BANDS or HAIR GRIPS
- Do not COLOR HAIR for at least TWO WEEKS
- Do not PERM HAIR for at least TWO WEEKS
- Do not HIGHLIGHT your HAIR with BLEACH
- Do not expose HAIR to SALT WATER like go swimming in the BEACH
- Do not expose HAIR to CHLORINATED water like swimming POOL
- Do not expose HAIR to intense SUNLIGHT
- Do not use HAIR STEAMERS if doing HAIR TREATMENTS
Do have a PADDLE BRUSH to comb hair thoroughly.
These are the HAIR TREATMENTS you can try at home.
Do this treatment once a week. Leave it on to your hair for about 30 minutes. And rinse about 80% of the treatment.

, I was wondering if could I cut bangs for my rebonded hair?, if i can’t what kind of haircuts do you recommend for rebonded hair,then?
ahm,, just wanna ask po if anu bang dapat gwin sa hair after rebond?.. ahmm, ngparebond kc ako 4 months ago lang and it kinda went back to my original hair,, so anu bng dapat na treatment para bumalik sa pagi2ng straight ang hair ko?

halo donna,tq so much for the article. im juz rebonded my hair 3 days ago, this is my 1st time rebond my hair. i still not clear about the way to apply conditioner to my hair. is it need to apply to the entire hair or juz the end of the hair.?
apply conditioner to the end part of your hair only…. that’s the part that’s in need of conditioning…

hi Donna Mae, can i color my hair before rebonding or after rebonding i have a stock of loreal hair coloring which i bought for a year..im scared if it is expires already..
what loreal hair color ma’am the do it yourself color? coz some hair coloring chemicals can block the cuticle layers of your hair therefor will make hair rebonding ineffective… better ask your hair stylist about it bring the color to him…. it’s preferable to color 1st before rebonding….
What haircuts do you recommend for rebonded hair?

there’s a tendency that your hair will be brittled ma’am if overly exposed to chlorinated water…

Is “Milk” rebonding better than “regular’ rebonding?
& is it also better if I rebond my hair with “curve” or semi-rebonding to let my hair have a “natural” feel to it?
milk rebonding is better for overly processed and colored hair… rebonding or semi rebonding process will make your hair straight
ma’am donna..ok lang ba ung hair ni rebond khit ng falling hair? then after two days naligo ako..parang hair relax lang ang dating ng buhok ko..pwde ko ba makuha yung binayad ko?kasin sayang po P1,300 pa naman tapos short lng ung hair ko..hindi pa marunong mg iron ung staff nila kasi parang bagong trained lang..can I get my money back?
Saang Salon po ito?.. I’m sorry to inform you these but as far as i know salons don’t give money back… mainly because there was stil a cost or expense on their part in doing your hair the medicine, electricity and salary… flag that salon na lang on your mind not to go back there… but in the other hand you can go there and complain and ask for hair treatment… for your 1st question yes ok lang naman to do hair rebonding kahit may falling hair kasi hindi naman up to the scalp nilalagay ang medicine…

I had this hair rebond for like 7 mo. and I’m please that it stay there for awhile ( I guess its the L’oreal shampoo&conditioner did a great job around) but since there’s a lot of invites such as xmass party and reunion so i set my mind to change my hair style and try to colored it.
My concern pertains the ff:
1. what type of brand will be appropriate since I did a re bond and it was my first
2. will it be advisable to have a hair color after the & m0. re bond
3. distinction between Mondes Milk treatment to Keratin treatment and whats best in my case
4. I have a round shape face what suitable hair color shade and hair style not to mention I have this chubby type physique
5. Since I use this shampoo my hair is getting thinner..

1. any brand will do as long as procedure is done correctly.
2. color 1st then rebond
3. it’s all the same hair treatment
4. round shape face it’s more on hair style not hair color
5. my basic hair maintenance shampoo for scalp conditioner for hair.

Very true about JOOK salon. I went there to get a digiperm last year and they burned my hair! I used to have beautiful hair and they destroyed it. I complained and they said it was my fault because I shouldn’t have had it permed! The nerve of them! Worst salon ever! Mabuti pa Reyes haircutters sa manila.

hello po! I had my hair rebonded this month (Jan. 6) and the hair stylist didn’t cut off all of the split ends so now medyo scrunchy and “may sabit” at the ends. I wanna cut them off. can i do it now? thanks po!!!

it’s true if you cut your hair right after the rebonding process pero since it’s been weeks na pwede na…

but i wana ask if its ok to put my hair backwards when i sleep? feeling ko kc pg nhigaan ko sya msisira.. actually, when i woke up this morning i saw n meron n sya slight but unnoticeable wave s right side, its ok though coz i dont want my hair to be pin straight anyway. kaso lng im afraid that it would go back to being super wavy if i keep on sleeping on the wrong position..

I had my hair permed last August 2011, and I’m getting bored with my hair because I’ve been doing perms every year for the last 3-4 years, and I want to try rebonding. Will it be okay? Kahit 7 months na siguro iyong perm ko?
Also, you said don’t tie your hair with hair clips, hair bands, and hair clips?
How about scarfs? Or hairsticks? Or those common twirly plastic elastics?
Can I use those instead?
Also, ilan araw ba usually bago maka tali ng buhok or ilagay sa likod ng tenga ang buhok ko? Minsan hindi ko kasi namamalayan eh na nagagawa ko pala.
hello Michelle thank you for the kind words. My advice, see a hairstylist and have your hair checked if it can endure the hair rebonding process since you said you’ve been perming it.
you can use scarfs after 1 or 2 months after rebonding the logic behind it is that the clips or any hair accessories may create an indention in your hair. thank you

Hair Cellophane or Henna wax treatments
ask ko lang po kung kelan pdeng mag swmming ? kpaparebong ko lang po kc .. wala pang 1week ee may swimming kme next next week .. pwede na po b yun ?

Hi I rebounded my hair in dec and find that my hair is in a better state, yet not straight. I do see a difference and blow drying time is much less than usual. I rebounded my hair when I was on holiday in Bangkok and would like to do it again.

pwede naman just protect your hair with leave on conditioner and don’t allow your hair to be expose to heat for a very long time after swimming rinse off the ocean water or pool water right away…
Hi po! nag papa rebond po ako ng hair for 2 years na. once a year lng. gusto ko po sana yung mga baging tubo lang na hairs ang i rebond, like half lng kasi yung lang yung part na nagiging wavy na. familiar po ba kyo sa “rerooting”. can i ask for advise po? thank you!

Mag pa treatment ka pwede sa Bahay Lang or sa salon. Wag ka mag shampoo everyday and take note pag mag shampoo ka sa scalp Lang everyday ka mag conditioner and focus mo conditioner sa dulo ng hair. Any hair treatment will do buy ka sa department stores but If u decide magpa salon pa hair cellophane treatment ka or henna wax treatment

Power dose treatments are for professional use only meaning its only sold to salons by loreal it’s not sold in retail market. Yes dapat 3 days talaga para mag settle down ang medicine use sa rebonding process

Tama na conditioner ka muna focus putting sa ends ng hair not sa may scalp after a week alternate mo na bale if today nag shampoo ka the next day Hindi na
everything depends on the condition ng hair if nakita ng stylist na okey ang hair mo okey Lang din sya I cut may technique naman silang ginagamit for that. Yes u can put aloe Vera please take note shampoo for scalp conditioner for hair especially sa ends thank u

Ask ko lang po kung ilan months ang pinakasafe mgparebond ulit from the last rebond process ko? January 7 po ako last ngparebond. Medyo saggy n po xa ngaun. Manipis lang strands ng hair ko at medyo brittle na xa. Thank you! Godbless..

Sorry I can’t give u an exact number or days because regarding sa pagtikwas depende kasi yan sa courseness ng hair mo may ibang hair na pwede ganito na cut meron din namang Hindi talaga pwede tnx

you can have your hair rebonded but it will all depend on the condition of your hair. FOr now treatment muna sa hair mo try hair spa wag ka muna pa hair cellophane maintain ka muna ng mga hair spa treatments you can buy in dept stores babad mo sa hair mo for 30 mins note lang not to put so much sa scalp mo and focus more sa ends and kung saan ung dry part.
just hate it po kasi coz naging frizzy na, and parang hindi na narebond. mas maganda pa ung previous condition ng hair ko kesa yung naging result ngaun,it’s kinda frustrating…. grrr

As awkward as it may seem to me, unlike most of your followers here, I’m a male. I happened to find your site through web search.
I know this may sound vain, but not only girls get to be too conscious with how they look. Since hair rebonding has also been done to men nowadays, I’m also planning to have one. I have naturally wavy hair, I got it relaxed before, but it’ll be my first to have it rebonded. I’m a bit reluctant about this, but most of my friends recommend it to me.
I’ve been searching info’s on this, and so far this is the most informative site.
My main concern is that the barkada is planning to go swimming on May 26, but I’ll have my hair rebonded on May 5. What should I do? My hair’s already long and can’t wait to be done. LOL.
What would happen if I’ll go on with it?

Thank you so much for the kind words. And I totally agree Rebonding process is not only for girLs, men with long hair get it as well. For you since its your 1st time to get rebonding know that after the process hair may tend to dry up so dapat maintain it with hair treatments. And when you go to the beach or pool put leave on conditioner to the ends of your hair and don’t let sea water stay on your hair and dry up in the heat of the sun wash off sea or chlorinated water right away.

hi ms.donna, kakarebonde ko lng po nung april 26 pero parang dry po yung hair ko pagakatapos ko maligo eh..sabi ng friend ko gumamit daw ako ng golden fabulouz cocomilk hot oil cream yan daw gamit nya maganda naman po hair nya..nabibili daw po to sa watson 220 daw po buy one take one..tanung ko lng po kung poyd ako gumamit n2 kc karerebonde ko lng ng april 26..sabi naman ng friend ko gumamit daw sya sa product na yan 5days pagkatapos nya magparebonde eh maganda naman daw ang resulta..ok lng po ba yun ms.donna? thanks po and god bless:-)))
wala namang problema gumamit ng any treatment mas advisable nga sya after rebonding na dapat talaga mag hair treatment. note lang to focus on the ends of the hair not so much on the scalp. Shampoo every other day condition everyday. thank you

pwede ka pa rebond pero depende sa condition ng hair mo have it checked na lang by hairstylist. cut first before rebonding.

do you really need to use anti-dandruff shampoo?? if not wag na lang sana muna kasi nakaka dry ng hair ang mga anti-dandruff shampoo. don’t shampoo everyday, put shampoo on the scalp lang wag sa ends ng hair nakaka dry talaga sya. condition everyday focus lang sa ends ng hair wag lagyan ang scalp.
