Threading-Hair Removal Technique
For us girls our constant battle is our hair removal every week or twice a month from unwanted places. I’ve been going to salons for a weekly manicure and pedicure service as well as weekly shaving of my eyebrows. I’ve heard a lot about THREADING as a way of hair removal.
THREADING is a technique used by hair removal experts where in they use a white thread loop in together and in a well practiced motion can grab the the hair and eventually pull a fair amount of hair at once.
If you ask me does it hurt, definitely YES! it’s very painful. But today I conquered my fear of pain, I got my eyebrows thread as well as my mini mustache. While the very patient and experienced hair removal expert, Abby from ENVY ME SALON was doing her thing in removing my hair I was thinking No Pain, No Gain. But eventually tears rolled down my face. My only consolation was when I saw the end result. It was very cleanly done and it will take a longer time for my hair to grow back again.
The Threading process is just very quick.
Here are the list of PRO’s and CON’s I’ve came across while researching about THREADING.
The Pros
- It’s extremely sanitary. Nothing but the thread touches the skin, and it’s thrown away after use.
- Great for people with ‘trouble’ brows. Threading has this amazing ability to be so concise in the hair that it removes. It’s sworn by people who say they can never get their eyebrows even, despite tweezing, waxing or sugaring.
- No chemicals are applied on the skin. When people have certain circumstances, or are taking medicines which conflicts with waxing and sugaring, they can still get threading done.
- It’s very fast. Although every technician is different, it takes the person who has threaded my eyebrows two minutes flat, from start to finish
- Temporary results can turn into permanent. Over time, frequent threading can cause the hair follicle to become damaged, and stop growing hair.
The Cons
- If done incorrectly, the hairs can break. If hair is broken from an inexperienced threading professional, hair re-growth will show up much quicker.
- It can be hard to find someone experienced threading hair. It’s a true art that has been passed down through the generations, and isn’t something you can easily learn in a couple classes- especially to do brow shaping. Unless you live in a large metropolitan city, you probably won’t find a salon or spa that does threading.
- Some hair growth is necessary. 1/16 inch of hair is needed for thread to wrap around.
- Not generally performed on the body, only the face. (SOURCE)
If you haven’t tried THREADING as an alternative for hair removal go try it now. Hairs & Nails Salon and Envy Me Salon both in Gensan and Davao are offering such services.

I used to have my eyebrows threaded for special occassions. But I have since changed my regimen to pulling and trimming since my eyebrow hair growth is downwards. hehe!
Nakakaluha talaga ang threading kahit na ayaw mo umiyak.
